ATLANTA, GEORGIA, SEPTEMBER 23, 2015 On Sunday, September 20, 2015, more than 5,000 Atlantans including over 600 runners moved to invest in long-term solutions that improve the quality of life for communities worldwide. The annual Aga Khan Foundation Walk/Run – Atlanta, at Centennial Olympic Park, raised $1.6 million with an additional $1.4 million match from AEON Foundation for programs that work with communities around the world to build better futures and an additional $300,000 for early childhood education. 100% of the funds raised at the event will go directly to projects supported by the Foundation.

Masters of Ceremonies Craig Lucie and Wendy Corona led the charity event that attracted a range of local leaders along with sponsors across the metro area, including national sponsor, The Coca-Cola Company, and partner, AEON Foundation. Speakers included Brad Morris, National Director of Retail Sales for The Coca-Cola Company, Dr. Mirza Jahani, departing CEO of the Aga Khan Foundation U.S.A., and Mr. Aleem Walji, the Foundation’s incoming CEO, as well as Mehboob Hussain, Chairman of the Atlanta Retailers Association.
