Welcome to our new website! We aim to make it easier for you to engage with us and learn about our work. We may look different, but we’re still the same organization dedicated to partnering with communities to build better futures together.

Our Approach

The Aga Khan Foundation is breaking the cycle of poverty by making long-term investments, building high-quality institutions, and cultivating an active civil society. These three actions are essential to breaking that cycle; one cannot work without the others. Together with our partners, from small villages to national governments, these investments transform societies so all people can thrive. Then meaningful, lasting change happens.

The graphic below shows how the building blocks of our approach work together. These three components create positive change that lasts long after outside funding ends. To explore more about our approach and programs, visit www.akfusa.org/our-work.

Our work is driven by a firm belief in our shared humanity. Prosperity for all comes from harnessing the best from people of all walks of life. Strong partnerships with local organizations, businesses, governments and community leaders, based on a shared vision for the common good, improves the quality of life for people in the poorest regions of Africa and Asia. We’re stronger together. View our collection of stories to see the many ways these building blocks combine.

What happened to PartnershipsInAction?

The Foundation hosts many events in the United States to raise awareness of global development and the Foundation’s work, and to raise funds that support its programs. Some of these events, such as walks and golf tournaments, formerly called Partnership Walk and Partnership Golf, will continue in major cities across the country. They are now known as Aga Khan Foundation Walk and Golf so that the Foundation’s name can be better known by the people who support us. Learn more about our events: http://akfusa.crowdsterapp.com/

Thanks for visiting our new site. We’re excited about its dramatically different look and flow, and hope you find it exciting too. We invite your ideas and look forward to hearing from you.
