Collection of Information
AKF USA may ask for and collect personally identifiable information from you at various points throughout the site. Depending on the information and/or services you request, you may be asked to provide your name, email address, address, phone number, payment details, and similar information. Once you provide your personal information, you are not anonymous to AKF USA. You may opt out of e-mail communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link that is included at the bottom of every email communication from AKF USA.
Security of Personal Data
Donor Data: AKF USA’s donor data is stored in a cloud-based database which resides at a third-party vendor’s premises. Access to the database is limited to the Foundation’s staff and volunteers. The data can only be accessed through a secure firewall by an individual with a username and password, and who has been given access to the database.
Personnel Data: AKF USA stores all personal information on a secured server. Information on personnel is stored in a dedicated and secure drive with access limited to the senior staff responsible for overall operations. Documents from staffing and volunteer recruitments, and staff traveling abroad are also stored in a dedicated and secure drive with access limited to the senior management team.
Use of Online information
AKF USA uses the information we collect about you to send you communications such as our e-newsletter and various printed publications or mail appeals, and to help administer and improve our web sites. We do not sell our organization’s contact lists third parties.
Credit Card information
This Website is not directed toward children under 13 years of age nor does AKF USA knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not submit any personally identifiable information to AKF USA.
Your California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you are entitled by law to request an Information Sharing Disclosure. If you provide notice to the address below, we will provide you with a notice of your right to prevent sharing of your personal information as well as a cost-free means of doing so. To receive such a notice, submit a written request to the address listed in the Access section below, specifying that you seek your “California Customer Choice Notice.” Please allow thirty days for a response.
